It was less than a hundred years ago that women world-wide were just beginning to persuade men, (and perhaps even themselves), that they were more than merely a domestic commodity, a piece of property, and a birthing machine. But rather that they should have rights over their own bodies, that they should be able to vote, hold office, and own property.
Labor Coalition for Community Action - Conference Call on what the American Jobs Act will mean for people of color, women, youth, and the LGBT community
Please join Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis, Assistant Secretary for Policy Dr. Bill Spriggs and Chief Economist Dr. Adriana Kugler, for a special conference call to discuss updates from the Department of Labor and what the American Jobs Act will mean for union workers, their families, and in particular, what the American Jobs Act will mean for people of color, women, youth, and the LGBT community.
Every month - on the Second Tuesday - DCBiWomen.org meets to discuss a specific topic. This includes a wide age range women with diverse backgrounds - for sharing their insights over dinner and cocktails.
All women are welcome, regardless of age, orientation, relationship status, or partner.
